I was wondering if anyone has experienced in the last few months food delivery drivers (Ubereats/postmates/doordash) having the app say a woman is coming to deliver -complete with her picture and name -and in reality a man shows up?
This is not a situation where a team of two is delivering (very common for one person to wait in car and one to get food/go to door) but a solo delivery person not being the person in the picture.
It has happened enough to me that it seems to trend and not a one off. It seems innocuous at first but as a woman living alone, an expected man who the app clearly doesn’t know showing up to your home is not feeling great.
I wouldn’t get into an Uber/Lyft if the driver didn’t match with the photo like this, but I haven’t decided how to approach this and would love to hear people’s experiences and thoughts.”
