“It is with great sadness that today we announce the closure of Stadium Sports Bar & Smokehouse.”

300 Tingey Street, SE

Thanks to all who passed on news about Stadium Sports closing in Navy Yard.

Their closing note:

“It is with great sadness that today we announce the closure of Stadium Sports Bar & Smokehouse.⠀

Due to the negative consequences of the global pandemic, especially the drastic reduction in the number of government workers returning to work in DC, the passing of initiative 82 and the uptick in crime, we have concluded that it is no longer economically sustainable to continue to operate Stadium Sports in the current location.⠀

Despite today’s announcement and the closing of this chapter, we are extremely proud of all that we have achieved, and remain hopeful for a future where Stadium Sports will return in another location.⠀

“I wish to thank every member – past and present – of our incredible team, for helping make Stadium Sports a truly special place. We would not have come so far or achieved so much without you. I also wish to thank our guests and our friends within the local community for their many years of support – We are forever grateful to you all.”

We will continue to operate as Private Event Space until the end of the year.

⠀⠀
Despite the closure of Stadium Sports, our operating company Hill Restaurant Group will remain in force, and thus a bankruptcy is avoided, so none of our vendors will lose money on this decision, which is of course very important to us.

Please continue to support our other locations www.hillrestaurantgroup.com.⠀

We look forward to seeing and serving you again.⠀

Thank you all!”

Updates when we learn what becomes of the space.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
