“Dear PoPville,
This past Tuesday (Feb 13) around 7:45 PM I (short woman, glasses, dark hair in a claw clip, black jacket, white sneakers) was crossing the street at 10th & N St NW, and a car was waiting for me to finish so it could turn right behind me. Out of nowhere
a man on a bike swooped between me and the car and I instinctively blurted out “sorry!” because I thought I might have stopped in the bike lane. Man jokingly says “no I was saving the car from hitting you – BLOCKED!!” and smiled at me and sped off. I was wearing one earbud with music playing and also was looking at maps on my phone when all this was happening, so I barely processed it in the moment. But in retrospect it was super cute and funny and I loved the absurdity of it – if you’re straight and single, let’s meet up!”
