“The H Street NE bus priority project is focused on improving bus and transit operations and safety between 3rd Street and Benning Road NE. This project will identify ways to improve transit service, access to bus stops, and safety along the corridor and seek input from the community.
The initial project limits extended from 3rd Street NE to North Capitol Street. In order to better align with the upcoming construction of the H Street (“Hopscotch”) bridge, the project boundaries were adjusted to 3rd Street NE. While this does not preclude future bus priority improvements between North Capitol Street and 3rd Street NE, the adjustment ensures that much-needed bridge work can proceed under its existing environmental approvals. DDOT will begin to advance the design of the recommended alternative. Construction is planned for 2024.”
