EVENT DETAILS:
Friday, September 15 at 5PM
Chinatown Park (6th & I Streets NW)

Created by the internationally renowned German muralist Hera and curated by SAM, the 135-foot-high mural will serve as a vivid reminder that we need all of society to tackle climate change. Women and girls must be included when it comes to finding solutions for addressing the climate crisis. The mural features a wise “Mother Nature” personification of the Earth, surrounded by a woman farmer planting a tree to support biodiversity and a child watching a bumblebee (a bee species endangered by climate change) approaching a flower. Children from Eaton Elementary School, the Embassy Adoption Program partner school of the German Embassy, and the German International School Washington D.C., will figuratively plant more flowers as they complete the artistic masterpiece during a workshop led by DC street artist Cita Sadeli (Miss CHELOVE).

BACKGROUND

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges we face today. And time is running out, as we already see devastating consequences all over the globe. With this mural, the German Embassy Washington and SAM want to recognize the essential role that women play in tackling climate change globally and the crucial need to ensure their equal and meaningful participation in climate action.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
