Two armed men stole our dog Duke in an attempted carjacking on Friday 9/22 at 9PM. We are so devastated and worried for him.
Duke was with our dog sitter while we were traveling for our belated honeymoon (postponed during Covid). She was driving him home to us in Hill East when she had to pull over in southern Oxon Hill MD to adjust her GPS. Two armed men approached her car, got into the back door, and took Duke. She is very shaken but thankfully was unharmed. Duke has not been seen since.
We’re begging the community to help us find him.
We’ve canvassed, posted flyers everywhere we can think of, talked with the police, vets, and shelters, posted online, and did an interview with TV.
Police said Duke may be posted for sale anywhere in the country so we’re trying to cast a wide net. They said he could also be used as bait for dogfighting, caged for illegal breeding, or is running loose if he somehow got away, so we’re trying to work as quickly as we can to shine attention on his story.
Duke is 3 years old, and is very distinctive looking at 80 pounds, 27” tall at the shoulder, jet black hair and pointed ears.”
