“Beyoncé concert metro woes” Update: “Metro offering extended service for Beyoncé fans Sunday night”

Update from WMATA:

“Metro will “Hold Up” the final train departing from Morgan Boulevard Station on Sunday night to give the #BeyHive a “Flawless” ride to and from FedEx Field.

The last Silver Line train toward Ashburn on Sunday night will now depart Morgan Boulevard at 12:04 a.m. instead of 11:34 p.m.,

allowing concertgoers enough time to walk from the stadium to the station. Metro will make late trains available at transfer stations so customers aboard the final Silver Line train can rely on Metro to get them to their destinations on all lines. All customers in line at Morgan Boulevard at 12:04 a.m. will be accommodated.

For customers traveling toward Greenbelt, free shuttle bus service to stations closed for the ongoing fiber optic cable installation project will be available from Ft. Totten.

Last trains on Sunday from Morgan Boulevard:

Silver Line:
• Ashburn: 12:04 a.m.
• Downtown Largo: 12:29 a.m.

Blue Line:
• Downtown Largo: 12:33 a.m.
• Franconia-Springfield: Customers should take the 12:04 a.m. Silver Line train toward Ashburn and transfer to the Blue Line at Metro Center.

Customers should be advised that the walk between FedEx Field and Morgan Boulevard Station can take up to 30 minutes, depending on crowds and other factors.”

“Dear PoPville,

Got an email last night from FedEx field that the last train on Sunday night of Beyoncé concert is at 11:30 but she won’t be finishing until around 12. Ubers aren’t taking preschedules and there is now no public transportation. Why won’t DC extend hours like they do for fireworks, soccer games, etc? About to leave thousands of people stranded!!

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
