I was driving and could only pull over for a minute to listen. I’ve just had an emotional day thinking of my dad, he passed away almost a year ago and his birthday is in a few days. He was a musician and he admired New Orleans music and culture above all. It was wild to stumble upon this—he would have loved it.

I think maybe it was Dupont Brass (coincidentally they are playing Jazz in the Garden in a week)? Their social doesn’t mention anything about being in DC today and from clips I checked they might have a different sound. But “When the Saints Go Marching In” is a classic so not a great tune for identifying a specific a band.”
