“Dear PoPville,
I called 911 last evening to report a fire alarm that had been going off for hours in a nearby elementary school. I dialed 911 three separate times and was disconnected “call ended” all three times.
A few minutes after the 3rd disconnect, I received a call back from a 202 number that when I answered my phone, it was a pre-recorded message letting me know that all dispatchers were actively helping others and I was placed on hold for a few minutes. I stayed on the line, told the dispatcher about the fire alarm and also shared the disconnects and the hold… scary!!”
