This means very poor air quality is expected, which may be unhealthy for people with heart or lung disease, older adults, children and teens. Reduced visibility is expected. Wearing a mask may help limit irritation for those suffering from respiratory illnesses.
Consider moving physical activities indoors or rescheduling them. Additionally, residents can take these steps to reduce exposure:
• Choose less strenuous activities (like walking instead of running) so you don’t breathe as hard.
• Shorten time you are active outdoors.
• Save outdoor activities for days when air quality is better.
