Without further ado, “I share the recent theft of our building’s dumpster.”

“Dear PoPville,

On Thursday 4/27, at 4:32 AM, two gentlemen borrowed, and did not return, our building’s dumpster. It looks like they were moving a refrigerator up the alleyway between Holmead and 13th street, and trying to get the refrigerator into a vehicle parked on Monroe Street NW. This large, fancy fridge was hard to move and they did not have a handcart. So! they loaded it on our dumpster as a dolly.

We’ve scouted the area looking for a large orange dumpster, but with no success. Perhaps they drove off with the dumpster as well as the refrigerator in either a large pick-up or box truck. We captured some of the activity on our building security camera, and a neighbor who was woken up by the commotion and captured it on his iPhone.

Our bottom line is that we just want the dumpster back. No questions asked,

we’ll pretend it never happened. If anyone knows about this and can ask the mover to return the dumpster, we’d appreciate it. Or, if anyone has security camera footage from that time period anywhere in the alley or the street, we could probably pull a tag number and hopefully get our dumpster back. They are expensive and we are responsible for them.”

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
