“Dear PoPville,
I am reaching out to you because our water bill went up…a lot. Not too long ago we had a satellite responsive water regulator installed by dc water. Things were fine until February when our bill went up to $300 (normal bill around $100) and we were out of town 20 of those 28 days.
DC water says we have a water leak which we have checked and determined that is not the case. Recently, I’ve heard that residents of a near by apartment building have seen a $130 spike on their water bills—the older apts in that same building (with traditional meters) do not have the same spike as the the satellite meters in the new ones have. Is this city wide? Is there a problem with the technology? Is anyone else experiencing this? We live on north capitol and O the apartments are on north capitol and M I think”
