Last Saturday I was walking my dog with my wife and wearing my Wolverhampton (Premier League soccer) jersey. I was stopped on Florida Ave across from the Whole Foods by a nice guy who was surprised to see another fan of our middling but lovable team. I told him the score of the Brentford match that morning.
Later we were walking by a birthday brunch in the streetery outside of 801 Restaurant and another surprised Wolves fan shouted at me.
I think all three of us believed we were the only Wolverhampton supporters in DC, but it seems like there’s actually a good following for this less-popular EPL team.
If you’re either of the gentlemen that talked to me (blonde woman in glasses and yellow Wolves jersey), or just another supporter, let me know if you’d like to meet up to watch a match someday.”
