“because it happened to me twice in one day I thought others should be warned.”

“Dear PoPville,

I hope I’m wrong about this but I think others should be warned. I paid for two rides – one on Lyft and one with a taxi outside union station. Both were astronomically higher than they were supposed to be

– my Lyft was a 1.5 mile ride quoted at $14, but at the end I was charged $60 because the driver continued to drive for another 40 min without ending the ride. Then after several failed attempts to get a Lyft later in the day I took a taxi from union station – the price was double what I expected as I am a frequent taxi rider. I asked for a receipt and noticed the ride started charging from Takoma Park.

I reported both incidents, hopefully this isn’t a new scam but because it happened to me twice in one day I thought others should be warned.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
