Last night Alan Henney reported:

“WOMAN BEATEN IN HEAD WITH BAT inside the &pizza at 13th St and U St NW DC. She was taken to a trauma center after being struck in the head and was briefly unconscious.”

I inquired with MPD and learned an arrest was made. Here’s more info from the police report:

“1250 U STREET NW
Mar 5, 2023 23:04 – Mar 6, 2023 12:40

Metropolitan Police Department officers were dispatched to a assault with a bat. Once on scene, MPD officers noticed V-1 sitting in front of the listed location bleeding from back of her head. V-1 and W-1 reported that S-1 hit V-1 in the head with a bat and locked the door of the listed location. S-1 was stopped by MPD officers in the rear alley of the listed location, when questioned, S-1 reported she was leaving the establishment for the night. S-1 was placed under arrest and taken to Third district station for processing.”
