Today’s Rental was chosen for the roof top hot tub and all the exposed brick, obviously

This rental is located at Park Road NW near Sherman Avenue NW. The Craigslist ad says:

“$3,900 / 2br – 1800ft2 – Quiet … yet close to the action! (Columbia Heights)

This house is almost entirely UNFURNISHED. (The furniture in the photos is for staging purposes only.)

The house has 3 floors. On the ground floor is the kitchen, dining room, living room, and a half-bathroom. On the second floor are the 2 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom (with both a whirlpool tub and a shower), and a laundry room. The third floor is simply a huge open space with vaulted ceilings and a pool table, along with 1 full bathroom and 2 balconies along the edges of the huge room. And the roof deck — which sort of serves as the 4th floor of the house — has a 6-person hot tub with a view of the monuments and the National Cathedral. Wow!

This high-end home is only 1 block from a dozen bars and restaurants, and 4 blocks from busy 14th Street with the Target shopping mall and the Columbia Heights metro stop. (It takes only 7 minutes to walk from the house to the metro stop.) All that said, the house is in a quiet location, in part because it sits on a one-way street with a dog park across the street.

(There is a separate basement apartment that isn’t described in this online listing. It has its own front door; the basement unit has no access to the large upstairs apartment that’s available to rent; and the basement has tenants who are present only 25% of the time. Very quiet.)”

Ed. Note: PoPville is not affiliated with any ‘Rental of the Day’ properties. Rent at your own risk and proceed with caution as you would with all Craigslist/online listings.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
