“Dear PoPville,

I am hoping to find a witness to the car crash I was in on Wednesday evening, around 5pm in Dupont.

I was driving southbound on 16th street, attempting to make a left hand turn on Q just outside the Jewish community center. There was quite a bit of traffic, and the large white truck traveling the opposite direction waved me through to make the turn. At this time, a black Kia Niro came speeding down the bus lane (which is illegal to drive in during the hours of 3:30-7:30pm) and T-boned me, totaling my black Prius.

Unfortunately, the driver is refusing to accept responsibility and is denying being in the bus lane. He is claiming that I did not yield and turned into oncoming traffic. Several witnesses asked if I was alright, but no one gave me their contact info in order to back up my side of the story.

If anyone happened to witness this accident, please let me know!! I am a healthcare worker who now does not have a vehicle to get to the hospital for work! :(
