“Come one, come all, for a lovely evening of Georgian food, drink, and the main event: LAMB x Nora Khatcherian art show!”

3227 Georgia Ave, NW

From a press release:

“Tabla, located at 3227 Georgia Avenue in the Park View/Petworth neighborhood, will be hosting Mikheil ‘Mishiko’ Sulakauri (@streetdefault on Instagram), the renowned Georgian street artist. Mishiko is known for his ‘LAMB’ character/alter ego, which can be found on walls throughout his hometown, the Georgian capital of Tbilisi. Mishiko previously visited DC in early 2020, when he painted the large ‘LAMB for President’ mural and the ‘DC Khinkali Flag’ logo inside the restaurant.

Mishiko will be visiting DC again, October 27 through mid-November, before heading to New York where he will exhibit his work. While in DC, he’ll be doing some more interior work at Tabla and adding some funky graphics to the front windows showing key Georgian dishes to communicate to passersby what Tabla has to offer.

Mishiko has also collaborated with DC-based Armenian-American artist Nora Khatcherian (@alittleonthesly on Instagram, Twitter, and Etsy) to bring LAMB to life in the form of giant 3D plush sculptures.

On Wednesday November 2nd, Tabla will be hosting a free Happy Hour to debut the show “Shepherds Heard.” This show contemplates the cultures of Georgia and Armenia through the interplay of soft sculpture and graffiti.

Registration for the event includes:

– Entry to view the LAMB x Nora Khatcherian collab
A free glass of one of Tabla’s house wines or a Georgian soft drink
– Other drinks and food available for purchase

RSVP here.”
