“Amazon Delivery Container Madness”

“Dear PoPville,

A few months ago, you wrote about giant Amazon containers that are left behind in a reader’s building.

This issue is now plaguing our building. There are new boxes arriving every day and being left behind. It’s madness!

From talking to Amazon and the drivers, we learned that it’s against company policy to leave the containers behind, but drivers do it because they’re in a rush to meet delivery deadlines. When we called Amazon, a customer service rep suggested that residents should just get rid of the containers ourselves! The reason Amazon can get away with this is because there is no penalty for doing it. The city should consider fining Amazon for every container left behind, otherwise corporate greed will know no bounds.”
