Sad news from the recently opened Newland yesterday:
“We are heartbroken to announce that Newland’s last day of service was at the end of last month.
We set out to serve food and drinks that pushed our creativity and innovation to the next level, all while having a damn good time. We can safely say that, while this isn’t how we envisioned Newland’s story unfolding, we did just that.
We could run through the many possible reasons why
(rising food costs, labor shortages, and economic uncertainty, to name a few), but we’ll just say it’s tough out there for restaurants…especially small, independent ones. We ask that if you love your local spot, please support them in any way you can.
Thank you to all our guests- we loved meeting each and every one of you. And a very special thank you to our staff, a team of hospitality professionals/rockstars it was a real honor working alongside.
While we are sad to say goodbye at Newland, you can continue to see many of us at @beuchertssaloon and @fightclubdc. We love this city and our Capitol Hill neighborhood deeply, and we look forward to continuing the fun there.
Love to you all,
Team Newland”
