“shout out to an incredibly patient and kind UPS delivery driver who had to deal with a staggeringly stubborn, entitled, and unkind woman holding up traffic”

“Dear PoPville,

I wanted to shout out an incredibly patient and kind UPS delivery driver who had to deal with a staggeringly stubborn, entitled, and unkind woman holding up traffic on the 1700 block of Euclid on Tuesday evening at about 6pm. It’s a two-way street (that should really be one-way) and she refused to drive past his truck, despite there being ample room to pass and many offers from the driver and passerby to help her do so (there was also a parking spot she could have backed into). She held up traffic on the block for at least 30 minutes

while everyone begged her to move, insisting that he needed to back his delivery truck up most of the block so she could pass more easily.

In the end, five cars behind her backed up so she could reverse halfway down the block before, after all that, deciding to just drive forward past the truck instead.

The worst part is that she stopped to get the driver’s name (Khalil) so that she could report him to his manager. He was unfailingly polite and patient the entire time and I really don’t want him to be the one who gets in trouble as a result of this!

The bright side is that about a dozen people came out of their houses or their cars or stopped on their walks to try and help him. Sadly, her shocking entitlement proved impenetrable.

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
