“I’d love to know if there is a chance our pups are siblings as mine came from a large litter.”

Update: Connected!

“Dear PoPville,

I have a bit of an odd “missed connection” for you. It’s a missed connection with a dog! I was walking north on Georgia Ave and as I was crossing Kenyon St NW a young woman was walking towards me with a black and tan dog.

I smiled at the dog and the woman smiled back. Her dog looks EXACTLY like my dog I actually thought for a second she was my dog since I haven’t seen many other dogs that look even slightly similar to our dog. Only difference I saw was her dog has a normal tail while mine has a bobbed tail (she came that way from rescue). I wanted to stop the person and ask her about her dog but we were in the middle of an intersection, and she had headphones in so I didn’t want to disturb her. If you’re out there, I’d love to know if there is a chance our pups are siblings as mine came from a large litter. We rescued her from Last Chance in June of 2020, when she was 8 weeks old.”

If this is you, please email me at [email protected] and I’ll put you in touch with OP.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
