I was pretty flabbergasted at this exchange with my current apartment building. Essentially I had decided not to renew a few weeks ago based on the increase but saw online today that my exact unit was listed significantly lower even without the available leasing concessions.
I asked about it and was essentially told that I can’t rent my unit at the current list price (allegedly market value) and instead would have to pay a little over $120 more. Even more bizarre, they’d happily allow me to rent my exact floor plan on two other floors (including one 3 stories higher) for less than what it would be to remain in mine.
Found the whole experience pretty wild.”
