“Have other buildings experienced the same issue and have advice on how to get this resolved?”

“Dear PoPville,

I thought that I would shoot over a message in regard to our building and neighborhood. A few weeks ago, a male and female (whom we are assuming are a couple or partnered) entered the vestibule of our condo building in Shaw/Logan Circle, loitered, and pulled the fire alarm at 4:00 a.m. Since then, there have been numerous attempts for this couple to enter the building again,

either following in a delivery person or attempting for one of our neighbors to let them in. Our property management company has attempted to work with the police as there have been multiple attempts of trespassing and the misdemeanor of pulling the fire alarm, though they have not been helpful. They have been spotted in the neighboring blocks either panhandling and trespassing in the vacant laundromat on 11th and M, and as far as we can track from video surveillance, have attempted or gained access to our buildings 4 times.

Have other buildings experienced the same issue and have advice on how to get this resolved? Additionally, I know my neighbors and I would like support from others in the community if there are similar incidents with this couple in other condos/apartments.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
