“Dear PoPville,
I own the top floor of a 4-unit condo building and have sole access to a back roof deck. Recently we advanced a comprehensive roof repair and replacement project that required the deck to be demolished.
Which I did by myself, including haul away. The other HOA members recognize that I am due a certain level of compensation to rebuild, but I’m struggling coming up with an appropriate percentage, especially considering that we just spent $30,000 on roof work.
The deck was old, and I know that needs to be factored in. Anyone have previous experience with a limited common element being extracted for necessary repairs to a common element? How did you approach rebuilding?“
