“The northwest neighborhood’s newest taco bar, Hippo Taco is coming soon to Western Market. Local chef Tim Ma is teaming up with Ben Sislen and Jonas Singer to open a new 1,200-square-foot taqueria atop Foggy Bottom’s growing Western Market food hall later this spring located at 2000 Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
Hippo Taco’s indoor-outdoor venture will sling Asian fusion tacos and quirky Chinese-American items. The bar program will go heavy on Eastern shore favorites, like the classic orange crush and other summery frozen drinks, wines and cocktails on draft. The space will feature a roll-up garage door for the warmer months and sit next to a public courtyard that hosts live music.”
