“Dear PoPville,

I wanted to warn the other young women of the Dupont Circle/ lower AdMo area (approx. New Hampshire and Riggs) of a man that assaulted me, and other women in the area over the weekend.

He came up from behind me on foot, grabbed my butt, tried to grab under my jacket, feeling around for my belt line/waist area. It lasted all of about 45 seconds before I started screaming loud enough that people noticed and he walking off by foot.

He wore a basic black, single rolled beanie, grey sweatshirt, with a black unzipped jacket.
He was unmasked, black, approximately late 30s, and had clean cut facial hair. He looked totally normal and not like a neighborhood character.

I walk a lot in this city, it’s my main mode of transportation, and trust me when I say I have seen some THINGS.. but never have I been touched, grabbed or fondled.

I ran into the same man minutes later when I was trying to take a different route home to avoid him following me. It seems as though he was circling and hanging around the same areas.

I know the dog park is there and many people might have seen him or feel safe and comfortable in that location.

Please help me in getting the word out.

Also please forgive spelling and grammar errors, I’m still a little shook.

As I stated, it’s been reported to the police-just doing my part to keep our community safe in these weird times.”

This rental is located at MacArthur Blvd near Q St NW. The Craigslist ad says:

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
