“Proudly employing and empowering 200+ individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities (IDD), North Carolina based coffee shop Bitty & Beauʼs Coffee set to host interviews this weekend for one of the companyʼs first franchises in Washington, DC!

Opening soon in Georgetown at 3207 M Street NW, Bitty & Beauʼs Coffee is thrilled to invite adults (18+) with intellectual and developmental disabilities to register for an interview. No prior experience necessary. Those interested in joining their management team are also encouraged to attend. Registration link can be found here on Bitty & Beauʼs Coffee Facebook & Instagram pages – spots are limited!.

Brewing up more than just delicious drinks, Bitty & Beauʼs Coffee is a human rights movement disguised as a coffee shop. The shop is run primarily by people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), and provides a one-of-a-kind experience that is changing the way people view those with disabilities.

“We created Bitty & Beauʼs Coffee to show the world that people with disabilities should be valued, accepted and included members of society, especially in the workplace,” said Amy Wright. “Itʼs a place where diversity is not just appreciated, it’s celebrated.”

Amy and Ben Wright founded Bitty & Beauʼs Coffee in 2016, in honor of their two youngest children, Bitty & Beau, who have Down syndrome. With approximately 80% of people with IDD unemployed nationwide, Bitty & Beauʼs Coffee creates a path for people with IDD to become more valued, accepted and included in every community.”
