Update: Shooting Homicide around 8pm at Georgia and Euclid St, NW

Update from MPD:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, in the 2500 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest.

At approximately 8:04 pm, members of the Third District responded to the listed location for the report of the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located an adult female victim, inside of a vehicle, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to area hospital. Despite all life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 27 year-old Sierra Johnson,

of Northeast, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.”

MPD reported around 8:30pm: “Alert: Shooting Investigation in the 2600 block of Georgia Ave NW. No lookout.”

Alan Henney reported: “CRITICAL SHOOTING in Columbia Heights near Howard Univ— Patient is a WOMAN (*NOT* a man). She was shot in head now in cardiac arrest.”
