Last night there was a small fire at the Estate Apartment building in the Navy Yard. Per the fire department, there was a cardboard box located in the fourth floor trash room that ignited. The sprinkler system went on and is what stopped the fire, but only after it flooded the entire 4th, 3rd and 2nd floor as well as into the lobby. A photo of the culprit cardboard box is attached.
Who does this?! There are a ton of children and pets that live in this building and thank god we were home to evacuate our pets in time.”
