Dear PoPville

“Seeking Recommendations for Replacement COVID-19 Vaccine Card”

“Dear PoPville,

I’m scheduled to fly to Italy on Sunday afternoon and discovered yesterday that my COVID-19 vaccination card somehow got water damage on it since I received my booster on the 20th. I was originally vaccinated back in late March/Mid-April at the Convention Center, so I called DC Health this morning who directed me to call GW Hospital who was responsible for administering the vaccines at that site.

GW Hospital operator told me that there was no official protocol in place for replacement cards and that I could either (a) show up at the vaccine site across from the hospital and hope they would issue me a replacement card but that there were no guarantees, (b) try and email [email protected] to request information on obtaining a replacement but that she wasn’t sure what their response time would be, or (c) call DC Health and ask them for additional guidance/protocols

I’m now in a bit of a time crunch as Italy will not let me enter the country unless I have a legible CDC COVID vaccination card but seem to be getting the runaround from all parties involved in my original vaccinations. Desperately seeking any advice or suggestions on how to get a replacement card by Saturday.”
