“I don’t know what to do as I don’t want my mail to get lost or stolen”

“Dear PoPville,

My letter carrier has taken to hanging my mail on my fence which causes it to fall all over the public sidewalk and get lost, stolen, or blown away. My mail slot is in my door, and for the past decade I’ve lived in this house no letter carrier has ever had any trouble delivering the mail.

I filed something with the Post master general as well as the postal inspection service and received a peculiar message referring to a conversation we didn’t have and referring to an attached file that didn’t exist. I don’t know what to do as I don’t want my mail to get lost or stolen, not to mention the huge hazard of putting slippery magazines and letters on the brick steps. Does anyone have any suggestions? I recognize that letter carriers have an incredibly difficult job, but dumping the mail like this creates a hazard for the other delivery services as well as the residents of our house!

My zip code is 20002 which is allegedly the worst place for mail in dc per my usps friend.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
