“Amazon Packages recovered but…….”

“Dear PoPville,

245pm Friday.

While Amazon was delivering packages on the 1000 block of Quebec Place NW, a police officer pulled up behind him.

The officer told the Amazon driver that he was responding to a call from a resident on the block who reported that thieves dumped an Amazon “tote” delivery cart full of packages behind their house.

The officer pulled out the huge Tote delivery cart to give to the driver.

The driver called his Amazon manager. The Amazon Manager said they cannot take the packages back,

because they have 3rd party delivery people and no idea who the cart/packages was stolen from.

The officer and Amazon driver went through the packages and told the manager that only 1 package is open/empty, but the remaining “50” packages are still sealed. The manager still refused to instruct the driver to take the packages. The officer replied “there will be a lot of mad people this Christmas…the packages are still deliverable”. The officer put the tote back inside his truck and left.

It is sad that Amazon did not bother to take the packages and redeliver. The tote that was stolen was an Amazon tote and not a 3rd party tote.”
