Bakeshop coming to Georgetown

3210 Grace Street, NW courtesy Bakeshop

From a press release:

“Bakeshop brings its classic bakery treats across Key Bridge when it takes up residence this month in the Grace Street Collective just off of Wisconsin Avenue in Georgetown.

Bakeshop, which first opened in Arlington in 2010 and added a second location in Falls Church in 2019, is known for its delicious desserts which include vegan selections as well.

“Georgetown is such an iconic part of DC. It’s rich in history and has a great food scene – especially for sweets” said Justin Stegall, Bakeshop’s founder and owner. “We’re excited to be part of the neighborhood and make new friends.”

Bakeshop will offer cupcakes, cookies, macarons, pie and cake slices, and other favorites like ice cream cookiewiches, Vietnamese iced coffee and a line-up of vegan desserts.

The Grand Opening is November 13, 2021 from 10:00am – 1:00pm at 3210 Grace Street NW, Washington DC 20007. Guests will be treated to selected samples of Bakeshop’s offerings, as
well as have the chance to win gift cards and other prizes. Faculty and students who show a
valid school ID will receive a complimentary cupcake during the Grand Opening.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
