“Curious about the disappearance of the green sculpture on NE corner of 14th and R”

14th and R Street, NW

“Dear PoPville,

My 4 year old and I pass by this every day on our way to school and we’ve noticed it’s suddenly gone. We’re very curious as to what happened to it. If you or your readers have any idea, we’d love to know!”

A few weeks ago Steven wrote us:

“The iconic sculpture by Yinka Shonibare outside the Liz complex on 14th and R was removed by a crane on Saturday morning and hauled away. Let’s hope it’s just temporary. This stunning and distinctive piece really added a lot to the neighborhood.”

Anyone know the permanent plans?
