“Dear PoPville,
I live next to Williams Alley in Columbia Heights. A month ago contractors tore up the very nice brick paving in the alleyway in order to install what I assume to be fiber optic cable. They replaced the brick paving with extremely shoddily installed asphalt (see picture).
It’s ugly and uneven. Several neighborhood children regularly play back there. Furthermore the brick was new, only a few years old. Is there any way to request that the work be redone properly? Would it be DCRA? I believe the contractors were working for Verizon, based on a document left on my porch stairs. Thank you!”
