1432 H Street, NW via Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia
Thanks to G. for passing on Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia’s post yesterday:
“As part of our regulatory duties, we certify every payphone in the District. That used to be quite the task, but now in 2021 just six payphones are active in the entire city.
One of the #LastPayphonesInDC (and the only one remaining downtown) is at is 1432 H St, NW. This payphone has a traditional pedestal and is in overall great shape! While technically active, this phone is pending removal so if you’d like to place a call, the time is now.”
Ed. Note: And in other phone news, don’t forget the new D.C. 771 area code is coming October 9th and with that our days of easy breezy dialing local without an area code are over!
