I’m very saddened by learning that Cafe Istanbul in Dupont Circle has been a victim of hate crimes after only one month of opening on 21st and P St.
They’ve had graffiti with a swastika and messages saying “F*** Turkey”. A few weeks ago someone tried to set fire to the place in the early morning hours.
The owners, a hard working Turkish family, are devastated and scared.
Can we all show some support to this small business and their owners and protest against racism in our neighborhoods?“
