I’m curious to hear from any other readers about the length of time DC is currently taking to issue tags, title and registration.
I bought a new car in May and the Maryland suburb-based dealer admitted to mishandling the initial submission of information to DC until late June, but assured me it was submitted then.
As of mid-August, DC’s DMV Call Center says they have not received any paperwork with my VIN.
Dealer says DC is backed up with “file cabinets full of unprocessed requests” and customers regularly are waiting 3 to 4 months or more.
One of them is fibbing.
I’m getting MD temporary tag renewals in the interim, but not the RPP I paid for….
Can anyone else speak to how long they’re waiting these days?”
