Saw this tonight on my evening stroll. It’s docked at the bridge on 31st between K and M St. NW, and was NOT there midday today (Sunday). Crazy!! Would love to know the backstory on how it got there and what’s next for it”
4JRCook notes: “A modern canal boat arrives to the C&O in Georgetown. It will be powered by both motors and mules.”
Back in May we noted that the canal was refilled with water. At that time the Georgetown BID reported:
“Georgetown Heritage is in the final stages of preparation for the arrival of their new canal boat replica, which is scheduled to begin operating later this summer as a platform to educate and engage residents and visitors.”
