“Missed connection – Whitlow’s”

undated photo of 11th and E Street, NW via Whitlow’s

“Dear PoPville,

I know Arlington doesn’t normally make it on to your radar, but Whitlow’s (originally a DC joint!) closed down last night (Saturday) and I am pining to know where all the friends I was packed in with are headed next weekend.

In particular, Sarah – you were right,

I’m entirely incapable of recalling the other names you told me – had a great time with you and your group and feel terrible that I went off to “check on my friend” and never returned to the side room to continue chatting before you departed (Kleptoradio was playing Mr. Brightside – I had no choice. Also, who leaves ten minutes before the LAST last call?). In any case, seems like it might be fun for us to join y’all another time when the untimely passing of WoW isn’t occupying center stage.

And in general, to the bands, the fans, the staff who are Whitlow’s – even the cops there keeping an eye on things every weekend – damn well better see you again! Will be forever grateful for a place that brought people together like nowhere else.

Sincerely,
Nate”

Ed. Note: If this is you, please email [email protected] so I can put you in touch with OP. PoPville is not affiliated with either party, please proceed with any potential connection at your own risk using caution as you would any online encounter. For those curious about past missed connections, some have been made and when possible I’ll try to update when/if more are made. Thursday’s connection was made!

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
