“Dear PoPville,
The median at New York and 1st NW has been a hazard, damaging many cars daily. Cars traveling south on 1st St NW, making a left onto New York ave NW have to deal with this almost invisible flawed median. My first contact with DDOT about this was 2014, to no avail.
In 2020 DC repaved New York Ave, tearing away the original median, only to replace it with another one that extends even further into the intersection. Others and I in the neighborhood put orange safety cones out to assist motorist. Even with that, the cones are usually hit and drug by motorist. I have helped countless upon countless motorist change flat tires and some even worse damage to their vehicles.”
