Any Witnesses to Car Crash? (2/14 at 6pm at P St NE and Florida Ave NE)

via google maps

“Dear PoPville,

I’m looking to see if anyone witnessed a traffic crash on Saturday, 2/14 at 6:00pm at the corner of P St NE and Florida Ave NE (near the Mobil gas station and Sirius building) in which my wife’s car was hit by a driver who ran a red light.

Thankfully, my wife is okay and the damage to our car was pretty minor, but the other driver is arguing that she was not at fault (she’s changed her story a couple times, and now claims that she was making an (illegal) U-turn across traffic) and is complicating the insurance claim. My wife (black Hyundai Santa Fe) was turning left from P St onto Florida Ave with the green light when the other driver (blue-grey Toyota Highlander) ran the red light and hit the back of our car.

We’ve tried to get security footage from all the nearby businesses and haven’t had any luck. Any witnesses would be much appreciated!”
