South Block opening in former Dolcezza space in Logan January 25

From a press release:

“The popular go-to local shop for smoothies, juice and acai bowls, South Block, is set to open a D.C. stand-alone flagship location on 14th street in Logan Circle. This will be South Block’s 11th location and the second they have opened since the start of the pandemic. This location will be in the former Dolcezza space on the corner of 14th and P at 1418 14th Street NW.

Fan favorites like the Warrior Bowl and the Super Green Smoothie will be on the menu, along with a full coffee menu featuring superfood lattes and Bulletproof coffee. Customers can order in store or through the app and are able to pickup with South Block’s very first pick up window.

Amir Mostafavi, founder and CEO of South Block, is excited to be opening up shop in this location, as he has profound childhood memories of walking up and down 14th Street passing out flyers trying to get locals into his father’s video store, Video 2000.

“Here I am, 30 years later, proud to be a local business owner opening up shop just down the street from where I looked up to my father as a local business owner. It’s been exciting to watch this neighborhood grow and thrive over the years,” Mostafavi says. “It’s surreal and I am humbled to now be a part of this community. It has been a long & tough year for DC, we are excited to bring some much needed positive energy & good vibes to back to the city!”

Local artists Mas Paz (@maspaz) and Ankiekan (@aniekanreloaded) were commissioned to bring the space together under the theme of “Unity.” This is the artists first collaboration together, and the results are truly jaw dropping. The mural highlights South Blocks non-profit, Fruitful Planet, which was established in 2019 with a mission to help get fruits and vegetables to food-insecure communities throughout the area.
“As with every location we open, our goal is to add value to the neighborhood… As we continue on our mission to help build healthier communities… one block of the time!” Mostafavi says. “We are so grateful for the support we’ve received throughout the pandemic. Our goal is to provide a safe place to get nutritious food and spread some good vibes along the way… something we can all use more of these days!”

Look for this location to open on January 25. Hours are as follows: Monday through Friday, 8am-7pm, Saturday and Sunday, 9am-5pm.
