Shooting on H Street, NE just after 5pm Friday

Jon reported at 5:16pm: “7-8 shots, broken car window and lots of chaos at @autozone on H St NE.”

From MPD:

“On 1/22/21 at approximately 5:09 pm, First District officers responded to the 1200 block of H Street NE for the report of a shooting. On the scene, officers located an adult male victim with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim was transported in stable condition to an area hospital for further treatment. The suspect was described as a black male, early 20’s, tall and skinny, operating a red in color vehicle.

The incident is being actively investigated by First District detectives. If anyone has any relevant information, please contact the First District Detectives office at (202) 299-2025, or the Metropolitan Police Department’s Command Information Center at (202) 727-9099.”

“At approximately 6:52 PM, a victim had just parked his vehicle in the 500 block of 7th St. SE and his wife was going to get items from the vehicle’s trunk when a suspect approached, pressed a hard object to victim’s side intimating he had a firearm and demanded the car keys. The victim threw the keys, which the suspect retrieved. The suspect then entered vehicle and fled.

The First District’s detectives’ office is investigating the above matter. Anyone who may have any information about this offense is encouraged to contact the MPD Tipline at (202) 727-9099.”

“On January 23, 2021, just after 2:00 am this morning the sound of gunfire was reported in the area of Second Street and Quackenbos Street, Northwest. Officers responded and discovered a cartridge casings near the intersection of Second Street and Quackenbos Street, Northwest. No one was injured as a result of the gunfire and the incident is being investigated by the Fourth District Detectives Office for the unlawful discharge of a firearm.
