MPD reported at 3:23am: “SHOOTING/3300 block OF WATER ST NW/NO LOOKOUT/5269″

Update from MPD: “Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Saturday, November 7, 2020, in the 3300 block of Water Street, Northwest.

At approximately 2:56 am, members of the Second District responded to the listed location for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and determined that the victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The decedent has been identified as 19-year-old Franklin Hernandez Arevalo, of Alexandria, VA.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.”

MPD reported at 11:35pm: “Shooting //1400 block of Belmont Street, NW

The Third District is currently investigating a shooting in the 1400 block of Belmont Street NW. an adult male has been transported to an area hospital with a non life threatening gunshot wound to the back.

Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099.”

Multiple readers reported starting around 8:30pm: “I just heard roughly 10 quick bangs – possibly gunshots – by Georgia Ave metro.”

Alan Henney reported: “PETWORTH SHOOTOUT w/ DAMAGED BUS STOP— New Hampshire Ave and Quincy St NW-DC. ~20 shots exchanged between multiple shooters. So far, nobody found shot, but the glass was damaged at a bus stop.”

MPD reported at 8pm: “Alert: Shooting in the 2700 block of Bladensburg Road N.E. Lookout for a black, male, wearing black clothing, last seen fleeing the scene on foot.

MPD reported: “Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Friday, November 6, 2020, in the 1700 block of Gales Street, Northeast.

At approximately 10:44 am, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital where after all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 41 year-old Demetrius Jones, of Northeast, DC.
