About that Helicopter – The DOE One is Back

Ed. Note: This is the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration that we’ve spoken about a few times. You can read about its mission here.

Alyssa (and many others) report yesterday and this morning: “Any reports of helicopter activity? I saw this one yesterday, but it wasn’t flying nearly as low and I only saw it once.

Anyone have any idea what this helicopter might be doing? It looks like it came from Joint Base Andrews so it’s military. It’s flying very low ~20 feet above our rooftop. Its flight path has been going back and forth in a tight pattern according to the Flightradar24 app. Turning around at Georgetown campus then turns back around near Benning Road. Almost as if it’s mapping something.”
