South Block (Juices, Bowls, Smoothies) coming to Dolcezza space in Logan

14th and P Street, NW

In late September we confirmed our scuttlebutt that Dolcezza would be closing at 14th and P St, NW (also City Center, Wharf, Dupont Circle, and Bethesda) sometime in October. We now know who’s taking over the Logan space – South Block. The owner of South Block posts on his IG:

“Changing of the guard.

Excited and very fortunate to be opening our 11th @southblock location (and first standalone DC shop) in Logan Circle in the former Dolcezza spot on 14th & P st! Robb (owner of dolcezza) and I are friends… he and his business have been an amazing part of this community for years. We have big shoes to fill and I hope we do you proud! I look forward to seeing your awesome gelato in stores nationwide!

I am particularly excited about this location since this is the neighborhood where I got some of my first lessons in business from my dad at a very young age. My dad opened his first video store (video 2000) just one block away on 14th and Rhode Island. I would hand out flyers in the neighborhood… (and stock groceries and his friend corner market) this was in the early 80’s. The neighborhood was much different back then. Excited to have watched this neighborhood grow and thrive…. it’s surreal and I am humbled to now have my own business here almost 30 years later! As with every location we open, our goal is to add value to the neighborhood… As we continue to build healthier communities one block of the time!

Think I’ll bring my kids by to hand out some flyers when we open in early 2021!”
