9pm Shooting at North Cap and NY Ave, NW. Double Shooting in Petworth around 6:30pm near Sherman Circle

“The Third and First Districts are investigating a shooting in the area of North Capitol and New York Ave NW. An adult male has been transported to an area hospital with a non life threatening gunshot wound to the torso.

Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099.”

“On October 20, 2020 at approximately 6:35 pm, and unknown suspect fired multiple shots in the 800 block of Crittenden St, NW, striking two adult male victims, and fled the scene in an unknown direction and manner.

Both victims were treated at local area hospitals for non-life threatening injuries. Multiple shell casings were recovered from the scene.

This case is under investigation by the Fourth District Detectives Office. Any information please contact 202-727-9099.”

MPD later reported: “On October 20, 2020 at approximately 8pm, the sound of gunshots were reported in the 400 block of Decatur St, NW. Some damage to property was reported and some shell casing were recovered. No one reported any injuries as a result.

This case is under investigation by the Fourth District Detectives Office. Any information please contact 202-727-9099.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
