From an email:
“DC Zero Waste Fans, while our plans for a full scale Zero Waste Market have been delayed due to the pandemic, Totes Bulk @totesbulkdc has started a small scale zero waste pop up market in collaboration with District Batch @districtbatch and Aardvark Cafe @aardvarkcafe that is operating out of Room 11 in Columbia Heights until 31 October.
We’re offering the entire personal skin care line of District Batch and also 5 products in returnable glass containers under the “District Batch Zero Waste” label. Each item comes with a fully refundable $2 bottle deposit. The products sourced are dish soap, hand soap, shower gel, toothpaste tabs and all-purpose cleaner. They are 100% plant based, no SLS, no synthetics, no fragrance, no palm oil and meet our highest standards for ingredient and production transparency.
Our goal is to expand our zero waste offerings in the future via pop-up markets and eventually get the brick and mortar Zero Waste Market open and humming. Until then, we’re trying to provide options for our neighbors to reduce their waste and lather-up with wholesome soaps and cleaners.
Thanks,
Totes Bulk & District Batch”
